The primary purpose of this book is to present quantitative forecasting of the mid-term probability of large earthquakes both globally and over various regions of the world.? The author used the novel seismic activity regression formula to calculate the probability of an earthquake, in the global and major seismic zones, with any given magnitude at any given time since the most recent earthquake of the same magnitude. This book is the author's 50+ years accumulation of achievements in researching and teaching geophysics and seismology for mitigation of earthquake disasters. 東西2大電商龍頭——亞馬遜及阿里巴巴，營運思維及商業模式大不相同。美聯社 分享 facebook 對於零售流通產業的經營者來說，當顧客的消費決策從「線上 vs. 線下」一刀切的線性思考，變成「線上↹線下」的O型循環，線上購物和實體通路的疆界已然消失，唯有能 360度無縫包圍消費者的「全通路」才有贏面。事實上，消費決策及其行為的轉變，影響的絕不是只有實體店面經營者，包括已經歷十餘年發展的綜合型電商平台，也開始面臨成長的瓶頸。以中國大陸為例，過去3年網上零售額的成長速度連續下滑，預料未來每年仍會下降8到10%。再加上互聯網及行動上網的普及為傳統電商帶來的用戶增長及流量紅利也日益萎縮，爭取用戶黏著度的成本愈來愈高，綜合型電商平台如不因應變革，恐怕難以存續，整合線上、線下、物流的「O型新零售」全通路，是電商突破「成長天花板」的活路，也是傳統零售通路避免萎縮、邊緣化的必然趨勢。. } }); } 不過，「線上↹線下」的整合串連並非易事，也沒有固定模式，以東西2大電商龍頭——亞馬遜及阿里巴巴為例，因營運思維及商業模式不同，兩者的策略與整合行動也不一樣。阿里巴巴的創辦人馬雲在2005年就提出「虛實整合」的想法，2016年10月在阿里雲棲大會的演講首度提出「新零售」的概念，他認為未來10年、20年，不會再有電子商務的這個說法了，只有新零售。所謂的新零售，是指結合電商、實體店鋪與物流的全通路零售，而且透過串連線上及線下的數據，精準掌握消費者的喜好與動態，讓線上和線下的購物體驗一致化。獲利來源比一比亞馬遜／收費會員制＋雲端服務阿里巴巴／網站交易＋金流服務手續費以獲利來說，亞馬遜並非靠賣東西賺錢，由於強調低價，它把商品利潤壓得很低，主要的利潤來源是amazon prime年費收入及雲端運算服務事業（amazon Web Services，簡稱AWS）。亞馬遜會員（amazon prime）制度原是2005年亞特價商品省錢馬遜成立10週年時推出的「吃到飽」式運送服務，只要付會員年費79美元，就可以享受無限次兩日內送達的免費服務；若沒有加入會員，大約5到7天才能收到網上訂購的商品。表面上看來，這是為了補貼縮短商品配送時間的運費成本，實際上亞馬遜是想藉此鼓勵消費者改變線上購物行為。剛開始由於參加會員的人數有春節送禮推薦團購熱門商品限，亞馬遜虧損不少，好在付費會員對於快速送達的免費服務相當買單，amazon prime也漸漸變成一項超值服務而大受歡迎。2014年，亞馬遜把會員年費由79美元調高到99美元，但會員的福利除了免費快速寄送服務，也增加各種數位內容的免費服務，包括快速出貨、購買限時優惠線上觀看電影、音樂串流、借閱電子書及體驗亞馬遜的各種創新服務等。2017年5月起又調高會員年費，從原來的99美元上漲為119美元。當時amazon prime全球會員人數已超過一億人，如果這些會員全都續約，光是年費收入就有119億美元。研究顯示，亞馬遜會員的消費額是非會員的2倍，顯然會員的忠誠度相當高，許多會員其實衝著觀賞免費影音及「amazon now」（幾小時之內免費快速送到家）等服務而來，由於已付了年費，便抱著「還本」的心態，更樂於使用各種免費服務，如此循環下去，黏著度自然愈來愈高。阿里巴巴做的是平台服務生意，建置平台讓最便宜首選買賣雙方直接交易，自己不經手商品，主要獲利來源是網站交易手續費及支付寶金流服務手續費。一旦買賣成交，買家把貨款付給支付寶，收到貨確認沒有問題後，支付寶再把款項付給賣家，阿里巴巴則從中收取交易手續費。金流服務可以說是阿里巴巴集團的一大優勢，馬雲2005年開始談虛實整合，最先整合的項目就是金流。2010 年他透過旗下Alipay E-commence 收購線上付款業務支付寶，經過8年，這項金融業務已壯大為財金集團——螞蟻金服（簡稱蟻金），業務範圍包括支付、理財、消費金融、信評、保險、微型貸款、銀行等。2018年6月，蟻金完成上市前最後一輪私募融資，取得140億美元資金，投入支付寶的全球化拓展及自主科技，預估其市值約1500億美元，儼然已成全球估值最高的金融獨角獸，身價接近2014年阿里巴巴赴美公開上市創下的1680億美元紀錄。新零售布局比一比亞馬遜／透過併購、設櫃進軍實體通路阿里巴巴／透過資本合作、自建通路雙軌並行在新零售布局方面，亞馬遜是以投資或業務合作的方式選擇合適業態，透過虛實整合打通原本電商業務的瓶頸。雖然亞馬遜在服飾、影音、出版等領域打敗實體零售業，但旗下生鮮（amazon Fresh）一直做不起來，2017 年亞馬遜大手筆以137億美元併購全食超市，就是為了切進最難經營的生鮮食品領域。此外，亞馬遜也把amazon Go無人商店模式引進「全食365」（全食超市旗下的小型有機超市），若測試成功，再導入全食超市，以加速虛實整合的腳步。【延伸閱讀】身價千萬的野雞車大亨，65歲淪為街友，口袋只剩7元，卻在街頭找到真愛...「這輩子我可以為她生、為她死」40歲放棄台灣區總經理，去中國打掉重練...跨國集團資深總監：比起年齡，更該問自己「下個10年我在哪？」為保護自己，與愛掀她底的老朋友絕交！已是公司董事的她嘆：越成功越假，是必要的人情世故薪水3萬被叫去頂5萬的差，他斷然拒絕...一故事告訴你，想著「領多少錢，做多少事」會害你錯失多少機會※本文由商業.com授權刊載，未經同意禁止轉載。
